BMC compression molding process features

BMC compression molding process features
① Small amount of material waste, usually only 2%-5% of the total material consumption, the actual material loss also depends on the shape, size and complexity of the molded product.
② During the molding process, although BMC molding material contains a large amount of glass fiber, it does not produce strong fiber orientation, so the uniformity and density of the product are high, and the residual internal stress is also small.
③ During the processing, since the filler and fiber rarely break, high mechanical and electrical properties can be maintained.
④ During the pressing, due to its relatively short flow length, the abrasion of the mold cavity is not serious, and the maintenance cost of the mold is also low.

⑤ Compared with injection molding, the investment cost of the molding equipment, molds, etc. used is lower, so the molding cost of the entire product is also lower.
During compression molding, a certain amount of prepared BMC molding material is placed into a preheated steel die, and then the die is closed at a certain speed; the BMC molding material flows under pressure and fills the entire die cavity; it is kept at the required temperature and pressure for a certain period of time, and when it completes the physical and chemical process and solidifies, sets the shape and reaches the best performance, the die is opened and the product is taken out.
